Visual Therapy

A visual information processing difficulty may contribute to or even cause reading and learning difficulties

A visual therapy program is designed to boost your child’s visual information skills for reading. It does not teach your child to read but is designed to give your child the NECESSARY visual skills they require in order to make sense of what is being taught in the classroom. Our optometrist may also suggest other assistance such as a tutor on completion of the program if your child is significantly behind to address the knowledge deficit that he/she has missed. Visual Therapy may last anything from two to four months.

Light Therapy

Syntonics is a colour based therapy which has been shown to alter the way the mind processes visual and other information. It is often a valuable tool to aid visual training/therapy. It is especially useful when dealing with children who either exhibit a generalized learning delay or who are highly emotional. Treatment runs for 4 – 8 weeks.
